India has started producing the world's most expensive coffee produced from the coffee beans digested by civet cat.

The trend of exploring bizarre food seems to have got a fever to the minds of Indians as well, and oh, did we mention that this coffee is made with the poop of civet cat and that it is the world's costliest coffee?

It Is Now Made In India...
This world-famous cat poop coffee is being produced in India on a small scale in Coorg district of Karnataka. It is made from the poop of the civet cat! Yes, you read that right!
It Originated In Indonesia…
The trend of making the world's costliest coffee, which is also known as "Luwark coffee", originated in the Indonesian island of Sumatra, and now it seems like people in India are all set to explore their tastebuds with this expensive coffee.
Why Is It This Costly?
This unique coffee is expensive because of the uncommon way in which it is produced. Apparently, it is produced from the coffee beans that have been digested by the civet cats, after which the faeces of this special cat is collected, processed and later sold.
It Has A Nutritious Value As Well…
As the coffee is highly priced, researchers revealed that this is because it is claimed to be more nutritious and the high cost is involved in sourcing the animal dropping, wastage during processing and quality certification.
When The Cats Relish The Coffee Cherries...
A source revealed, "Civet cat eats flesh of the coffee cherries and not the bean. Natural enzymes in civet cat's stomach enhances the bean flavour and that's why this coffee is unique."
The Cost Of The Coffee…
This costly coffee is considered to be a drink of the elite people, as it is consumed widely in the Gulf nations and Europe. It is sold for Rs 20,000-25,000/kg abroad, whereas in India it is being sold at 8000 rs/kg.
