KBC Winners And What They Are Up To Now
When their stars shined…
Based on a popular British game show 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?', Kaun Banega Crorepati has been debuted on the TV screens for more than 17 years now. The show promises to give bundles of money to the contestants who give the right answers to the questions.
While many failed to grab the event, few of them came back home richer than what they were before arriving on the sets of the show.
Recently, Big B's show has been making a lot of buzz on the internet, thanks to a 41-year-old woman from Jharkhand who managed to become the first crorepati of KBC season 9. Winning a cash price of Rs. 1 crore Anamika Majumdar, is an ambitious woman running an NGO since last 3 years.
Because Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 9 has geared up, here's a look at the past winners and what they are up to now.

1. Harshwardhan Nawathe
Becoming the first person to win KBC season 1, Harshwardhan Nawathe tasted fame overnight. Life changed for the 27-year-old contestant when he won Rs. 1 crore in 2000. Harshwardhan Nawathe was preparing for the Indian civil services but fame took his focus away from the studies, and he did not sit for the exam. Right now, Harshwardhan Nawathe is working with Mahindra and Mahindra company.

2. Ravi Mohan Saini
Winning Rs. 1 crore, Ravi Mohan Saini was the only 14-year-old contestant who was able to answer all the questions correctly. Ravi Mohan Saini, the winner of KBC junior was in 10th standard when he got a call from the show. Today, he is making his parents proud by serving the country working as an officer in the Indian Police Service.

3. Rahat Taslim
Rahat Taslim proved the world that her life was beyond working as a homemaker. Coming from a traditional and conservative family, Rahat Taslim was the winner of KBC season 4. When she got the call from KBC, she was excited to go back to studies rather than winning the cash prize. She believed in being an independent woman and hence opened a garment showroom in a mall in Giridih.

4. Sushil Kumar
Sushil Kumar, the man who became an overnight sensation after winning Rs. 5 crore on KBC is now struggling with money and is jobless. Sushil Kumar, the winner of KBC season 5, received Rs. 3.5 crore after tax deduction. It is said that he spent all his money in establishing his family, purchasing a land and a few other luxury things. He now hopes to become a school teacher.

5. Sunmeet Kaur
Despite a degree in fashion designing, Sunmeet Kaur was not allowed to pursue her career in fashion. She started her tiffin business, which did not taste success. Then, Sunmeet Kaur started taking tuitions and the knowledge she gained allowed her to become the winner of KBC season 6. The young lady won a cash price of Rs. 5 crore and started a fashion house along with her friend. Currently, she is no longer a partner to this business.

6. Taj Mohammed Rangrez
Winning a cash prize of Rs. 1 crore, Taj Mohammed Rangrez was the first contestant to become the winner of season 7. He used the money for his daughter's treatment for partial vision impairment, bought a house and also funded the marriage of two orphanage girls.

7. Achin Narula and Sarthak Narula
These Delhi brothers broke all the records by winning the 8th season of KBC. Winning a whopping price of Rs. 7 crores, these brothers were trying their luck to sit on the hot seat since last 10 years. They utilized the money in their mother's cancer treatment and also opened a business oftheir own.
