What Actually Happened?

This is the case of a man from Delhi, India, who unknowingly drank liquid nitrogen. He had apparently walked into a bar, and all he wanted was a good drink, but he ended up with a hole in his stomach. Liquid nitrogen is a substance that is usually used to quickly freeze ice-creams or even in surgeries to remove warts and moles by freezing them.

What He Did?

He apparently drank a tempting cocktail with liquid nitrogen that flowed down like a white smoke from it. Little had he imagined that the drink he was drinking was supposed to be consumed after the ‘smoke' had dissipated from it. His body started reacting in a weird manner after he quickly started consuming the drink.

Little Did He Realize What His Excitement Would Cost!

A little understanding of the subject of playing with substances could have saved him from this tragedy. When he consumed the drink instantly while the smoke was still coming out, he experienced extreme pain, with abdomen swelling and breathlessness, after which he was rushed to a hospital where he had to undergo a surgery. The doctors found that there was a huge hole in his stomach which they said "was open like a book"!

The Drink That He Had Consumed Had…

It is said that the liquid nitrogen cocktail he had consumed had the nitrogen at the boiling point of -195.8 degree Celsius. It is said that these types of drinks should only be consumed after the nitrogen has completely evaporated; however, this man was totally unaware of this detail.

The Man Revealed…

The man revealed in an interview saying, "After I gulped down the drink, I started feeling very uncomfortable, like how you feel when there is an acid reflux. The bartender passed me another drink and I had it, not thinking too much about the discomfort. However, within seconds, my stomach started swelling and I was in unbearable pain. Breathing was also difficult."
