10 Things People Are Pressured Into Doing In India
Life in India is quite an experience. It is house to billions of people, each one fundamentally different but bound by the same insane levels of morality and craziness. We take pride in the fact that we have a rich tradition. Even though we are independent we don't let each other practice their own faith or beliefs. Each one wants to rub their superiority in the other person's face.
10 Things Indians Say After Getting Drunk
Some of the things we do are downright crazy but nobody questions them out of fear. We are pressured into doing a lot of things. Lets take a look at some of them.

Worship Idols
From an early age kids are forced to pray to idols and pictures depicting Gods! You cannot question as to why you should pray to a stone or why were Gods painted into existence by Raja Ravi Varma. Worshipping stones is just one of those things that Indians do.

Follow Religion
In India we have people of various ethnicity living quite peacefully. Religion fanaticism is also a well known thing about Indians. You don't really have a say in whether you wanna believe in a God or not. You are automatically expected to follow family traditions.

Dress 'Appropriately'
This affects mostly the female population. The girls are forced into so-called traditional attires. Even then they are molested and raped! The irony is that the girl is blamed to death, citing various reasons. Girls in India are mostly pressured to dress 'appropriately', freedom being just another word.

Accept Your Parents Dreams
Another unique thing Indians will be familiar with are the various dreams each one of their parents have dreamed for them in advance! Kids are allowed to dream but in the end they are expected to fulfill the dreams their parents have imagined for them.

Arrange Marriage
People in India of course know and dread arranged marriages. Girls and boys fall in and out of love because their families presssurise them to marry a person of their choice. At times the two wouldn't even have met each other!

Accept Dowry
Dowry is yet another popular thing in India. Times are changing though, as some good guys do not accept dowry. But their families aren't ready to forgo tradition! The guys are often pressured into accepting dowry and thus it continues as just another thing Indians do.

Being Indian And Not Western
Every new trend that the youngsters practice is blamed on Western world. Public display of affection is a crime! People get thrashed just because they celebrate a worldwide accepted festival of love [valentine's day].What makes India unique is that we accept all the bad things but not the things that actually matter.

'Disciplining' Kids
Kids in India are disciplined by a stick or other brutal methods. If a couple raises their kid by not 'disciplining' them, then the whole society expects the kid to turn into some kind of terrorist or worse. Society, as usual, takes it's course for the worse and it's the others who are pressured into things they don't wanna do.

A Kid Right After An Year Of Marriage
Married couples face an awkward dilemma when their first anniversary is due. Their parents, relatives and even the neighbours are awaiting news of the wife's impending pregnancy. In India every couple has amazingly complicated problem of delivering a baby as soon as they are married. The pressure is often crazy and funny at the same time.

Hoard Tonnes Of Money
In India people are expected not only to fend for themselves but for their coming generations as well. Parents often advice their kids to save money for old age. In fact, they are pressurized into doing so. Hence Indians mostly live like poor guy but die like he just hit the jackpot!
