are

days
in
the
year
which
are
set
aside
as
Dry
Days.
The
sale
of
alcohol
is
banned
on
these
days.
Days

national
importance
or
days

dry
day
are
seven
in
number
which
is
Independence
Day,
Republic
Day,
and
Gandhi
Jayanti
(
recipes)
and

Republic Day
Republic Day is one of the dry days which is observed in India. Out of respect and regard for the supreme document of Indian laws and regulations it is considered to be a dry day.

Election Day
Election day too is observed as dry day all over the country. This is only to avoid violence and any such disruptive incidents as the state or nation goes to poll.

Gandhi Jayanti
Sale of alcohol is prohibited on Gandhi Jayanti. It is to mark respect to one of India's greatest leaders in the country.

Ganesh Nimajjanam/ Ganesh Visarjan
Right through of Ganesh Nimajjanam/ Ganesh Visarjan the sale and consumption of alcohol is banned to mark the respect for the Lord. It is also restricted to avoid violence during the process of immersion.

Good Friday
On Good Friday, the sale of alcohol and consumption is banned. This dry day is mostly followed by Christians in the country.

Independence Day
As a mark of respect to all those who have sacrificed their lives and well-being in an attempt to free the nation, sale of alcohol is prohibited on Independence Day across the country.

Martyrs' Da
Martyrs' Day,is also known as Sarvodaya Day. It is a National Dry day since we pay respect to those who gave up their lives in the service of the nation.
