Common Lies That We All Tell In Daily Life
When you ask your wife or girlfriend, “What is the matter?”, the common answer you will get is “Nothing”. Never think it's true. That is an instantaneous answer that actually means, “There is a lot to tell, but I won’t tell you so easily.”
You are, basically, required to ask a couple of times before you get the correct answer. This is just one of the lies we all tell. In life, we will come across many situations where we blurt out a lie without giving it a second thought.
We all know that lying is not good and yet we do it at times. Many a times, we preach our children about honesty and the ills of lying and the very next minute we lie in front of them. And the next hour is spent in explaining, “It was not a lie.” It was just a statement made as a need of the hour thing. Deep down, you know it was a lie.
We all lie at some point or the other. We may say that we hate liars, yet unconsciously we lie to others.

There are common lies we tell at different moments in life. One very common reason for doing so is to squeeze out of certain situations or to twist the situation in our favour. Take a look at the following lies. Have you not at some moment said so?
My phone battery died: When your phone rings and you do not want to talk at that particular moment or to that particular person, you do not answer. But what excuse to make? The phone battery going dead works fine. It’s fine that you will be called careless for not charging your phone but you have at least escaped the call.
I did not hear the phone: You phone was on silent mode; your phone ring did not reach your ears; there was too much noise and you could not hear your phone ring. There are endless ways to say that you did not hear the phone ring.

I am stuck in traffic: If you encounter traffic on the streets, it is none of your faults. You had started on time but the traffic delayed you. Who knows what time you started? You could have got up late after a late night party, but the traffic lie always works.
Building lift was not working: The reason why you are late is because you stay on the 20th floor and your building lift was not working. No one is going to come over to your building to enquire about the lift.
Will call you in some time: What is the true definition of this “some time”? This is one of the most common lies we all tell. You might return the call after five minutes or five hours. You never gave a definite time; just said some time.

Not well; can’t make it: If you are not well, no one can force you into going somewhere or performing a particular task. Besides, who can say with surety whether you are well or not? Only you know your body and its health.
I am with work: Want to escape going out with someone? One of the most common lies we tell is related to workload.
I
did
not
have
the
time:
No
one
has
more
than
24
hours
in
a
day.
We
all
have
to
make
time
for
things,
only
if
we
desire
to
do
so.
If
not,
we
will
never
have
the
time.
It
was
a
joke:
By
mistake,
you
have
blurted
out
a
fact
before
someone,
that
someone
who
was
not
supposed
to
be
told.
And
then
what?
You
have
to
save
yourself
and
you
turn
everything
into
a
joke.
You have lost weight: What better way to impress someone than complimenting on weight loss? Hardly matters whether it is true or not.
