How about having a plate of human head garnished with cut fingers? No matter how much you hate it, there are people who crave for it. They are called cannibals. Cannibals are people who eat other human beings. If an ordinary person was asked about cannibalism he would say it is something that was practised by tribal people in ancient times, when people were very uncouth and savage. Well, that person would be wrong. Cannibalism is a horrific truth of the modern day and cannibals are not tribal people, but ordinary members of the society living out ordinary lives.

In ancient times, cannibalism was practised by various tribal societies as part of their culture or religious beliefs. It was also practised during war and famine. But modern civilization looks upon cannibalism as a satanic aspect of human nature. The famous cannibals of today follow this perverse act either because of their satanic beliefs or because of their challenged psychology.

The ironic fact is that despite the various acts of cannibalism being unveiled in the world today, there is no country where cannibalism is illegal. The people who are convicted of such acts are usually convicted on counts of murder, manslaughter or mutilation of the body.
Here we compile a list of some of the famous cannibals in the world.

Albert Fish: This man is among the famous cannibals for kidnapping, murdering and consuming a 10 year old girl. Later he tormented the girl’s family with letters detailing his crime. He was later executed.

Issei Sagawa: He was a Japanese literature student in Paris who murdered and cannibalized a co-ed, believing to get some of her healthy energy. In a weird twist of justice, this one among famous cannibals was later set free in Japan.

Andrei Chikatilo: He was a serial killer and rapist, who is one among the famous cannibals in the world. He has admitted to nearly 50 cases of murder and mutilation and he stopped only when he was arrested. He was later executed.

Jeffery Dahmer: He was an extremely disturbed individual, a serial killer and one among the famous cannibals in the world. He drugged his victims and killed them before consuming them. He was beaten to death while in prison.

Rapper Big Lurch: Another among the famous cannibals, he was using PCP for relief from pain which might have caused his perverted act on his female roommate. He murdered and later ate her body parts and is now serving a life sentence.

Alexander Spesivtsev: His mother lured female victims to their residence where Spesivtsev raped and murdered them. Later his mother would cook the victims for dinner, making them both among famous cannibals.

Vince Weiguang Li: He is a Chinese immigrant in Canada, another among famous cannibals. While travelling on a bus, he decapitated a fellow passenger and ate his body parts. He told officials that he believed he was destroying an alien.

Matej Curko: He lived as a family man, but his despicable acts have placed him among the famous cannibals in the world. He got his victims from the internet and was later shot during a confrontation.

Peter Bryan: He was born in London to immigrants from Barbados. His perverted acts of killing people, some of them his friends, and later eating their cooked body parts have placed him among famous cannibals.

Jose Luis Calva: This Mexican had a traumatic childhood with sexual abuse and death of his father. He made the list of famous cannibals in the world for having murdered his girlfriend and consuming her body parts.
