Festivals are an integral part of the Indian culture, be it any religion or culture. All year round there is something or the other being celebrated. All these festivals have a religious significance and are celebrated with full devotion and zeal. Apart from this Indian weddings carry their own individuality. It is true that the ceremony is performed according to religious rites but the atmosphere is absolutely different. In fact, there is no other festival that can match the enthusiasm prevalent in Indian weddings.

The actual marriage takes place on one day, or night, but the ceremonies start days before that. This requires all relatives to be present for all occasions as each relation has its own significance. If you have grown up in a small Indian town you would be well aware of the buzzing that happens during wedding times.

Funny People You Meet At Indian Weddings

No matter how small the house all relatives are accommodated. From morning to night there is a non-stop round of activities taking place. As a part of the family each member is busy with some or the other chore.

STRANGE ENGLISH WORDS THAT ARE FUNNY!

Among all the people at weddings the ones who enjoy the most are the children. It is like another festival where parents, uncles and aunts are busy with work and grand-relatives are busy chatting. These children often act as observers and notice things that many others would not. One such thing is the ‘kind’ of people present.

Have we met such a person?
Every family wedding is bound to be different yet there is one thing common – the diverse quality of people with familiar habits. For an observer these people often serve as a source of entertainment.

Finicky aunts: Aunts will always be aunts. It is true that not all have to comply with this behavior but a general observation reveals that aunts in many families lie at the heart of complications. They will be bothered by not getting a proper place to stay or will have some problem with the food, kind of gifts offered to them, their things not being place, a daughter-in-law not respecting her, and the list goes on. They often succeed in stirring up a tornado on such occasions.

Fun-loving grand-relatives: Indian weddings see relatives of all ages coming together for the occasion. Of all these the grand-parents, grand-uncles and grand-aunts definitely turn up as they are always available. When they get together they do not have much work to do but sit and chat all day long. It is often fun to watch them talk about old times and the treasure of stories they have to narrate.

Attention-seeking relative: This can be any relative or friend. With so many people present Indian weddings serve to be the perfect stage for grabbing attention. There is a good audience available and everyone is in a mood to accept any kind of talent display. It does not matter how good or bad the person is; all that matters is entertainment being offered.

Food enthusiasts: A huge gathering, food being prepared in abundance and innumerable people at weddings to enjoy the food. Some are over enthusiastic and find marriages to be the perfect place to satisfy their appetite. A careful observer would find these people helping themselves to countless servings. Every course is enjoyed with complete fervor and then what follows is a detailed review of the food.

The energy and enthusiasm at Indian weddings are matchless. They are a complete family entertainer with all kinds of plots running side-by-side and emotions being poured out at every juncture. Every person is bound to have something to carry back home – some incident or person that stays on forever.
