When you think of fictional characters, we all have our favourites. Fictional characters come in all shapes and sizes, and we love them for various reasons only known to us. If you are an avid reader of literature, then there are a lot chances for you to become obsessed with some of the fictional heroines. A lot of them have even made a positive and long-lasting impact on our lives.

Fictional characters are inspirational even though they may not be real; some are incredible, even flawed and yet they have stimulated us with their strength and absolute brilliance. From being bold to a quietly courageous protagonist, fictional characters not only inspire us but they do leave an unforgettable mark that’s forever imprinted in our hearts.

Fictional Heroines Who Inspire Us

The steady amount of perseverance and willpower of some of the female fictional characters do drive personal goals and also inspire other characters that are similar to them. We are not inspired with the way they lure and snag their leading men nevertheless we are attracted with the things that make them more human and realistic.

Here are some of the interesting fictional characters that are inspirational.

Hermione Granger
Probably this is one of the fictional characters that have been inspirational for her sheer intelligence and steadfastness. Her character is considered to be the brain box in the Harry Potter series. This know-it-all, true beauty stays strong no matter what troubles are thrown at her. Hermione’s character came to life through Emma Watson’s portrayal in Harry Potter. This female fictional character always finds solutions in any crisis. Time and again this smart beauty uses her intellect to save her friends Harry and Ron from a number of dangers and tribulations. She keeps the J K Rowling's favourite trio always together. She invents out-of-the-world spells and she fights alongside Harry and his gang with her intelligence.

Eowyn
Eowyn is the fictional character in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy. The series may be overflowing with a lot of interesting heroes, but it has the literary heroine like Eowyn. She is definitely the most iconic fictional character that is inspirational for so many women. She disguises as a man and rides off to battle just to defend her countrymen. When she fights the battle against the Witch-king of Angmar in middle earth, he quotes “No living man can kill me” for which Eowyn asserts,”But no living man am I! You look upon a woman” and then slays off his butt to smithereens.

Elizabeth Bennet
Elizabeth Bennet, of Pride and Prejudice is definitely nothing like her fabulous sisters and she is one of the first feminist characters in literature. She is not attracted towards men nor feels insecure by pretty ribbons, which makes her a unique female fictional character. What makes her unique from her sisters is that Miss Bennet displays wit, gentle mockery and never abides to be conventional with the prejudice of the people around her. Even though her character portrays her as being saucy and blunt at times it surprisingly wields a magnetic pull on Darcy. Her fictional character is inspirational for most women since she is not afraid to speak her mind and is realistic about life.

Bridget Jones
Not every woman is ham-fisted, overweight, ordinary and stupid like Bridget Jones. Yet you like her because she is not what you expect from a female lead. Her fictional character may not be inspirational from a feminist point of view nevertheless she is expected to represent every women in this world.

Hester Prune
Hester Prune is one of the fictional characters that are inspirational in literature. She manages to live her life with dignity and faith even after getting disapproval by her puritan neighbours for having a child out of wedlock. This female fictional character is considered to be one of the most important female protagonists in American literature.

Jane Eyre
She is considered to be one of the earliest representations of complex female characters. She manages to depict the prejudice and classicism of her time. She greatly suffers as an orphaned child as well as an adult yet she gets back on her feet and manages to keep herself grounded. She is never a lifeless damsel in distress. With all the suffering, she is admirable and compelling and that is what makes her one of the iconic fictional characters that are inspirational.
