Best Party Game Ideas For Adults
Just because people grow up, it does not mean that parties need not have games. In fact, adult parties should always go beyond eating and drinking. Games in a party help break the ice between strangers. They serve as a relaxation and distraction from work and prepare the mind for a fresh round of work. Party game ideas for adults need not always be of an adult nature. At times, some of the most childish games happen to be the most interesting ones.
Although party games for adults can be inspired from children’s games, we can also make alterations to suit a particular group of adults. For every occasion, there can be a different theme, the props used can be those that are more suitable for adults. The idea is to have fun, set aside all kinds of worries and spend some time completely detached from work and tension.
Here we discuss some party game ideas for adults. It will not be wrong to say that most of them are an inspiration from children’s games. In fact, keeping the child alive in each one of us helps us live a better life.
Musical chairs: This is a very popular birthday party game. You go to any child’s party and this game is sure to be there. Let us twist it for adults and make teams of couples. One chair has to be acquired by a couple. When the music stops, both partners are to sit on one chair.

Dumb charades: Split up the guests into two teams. Team A gives a word or idea to one member of team B. This member has to enact the word or idea and team B has to answer. The team that gets the most answers correct wins.
Passing the orange: Children pass the balloon but adults can pass the orange. Hold an orange in the middle of your neck and pass it to the other member without either player touching the orange by hand. The team that completes passing the orange from the first to the last member wins. And remember the orange should not be squashed.
Game of life: This is a board game that allows a number of players to play together. Roll the die and follow the instructions. The events and incidents on the board resemble those in real life and members can, at times, relate to them.
Scotland yard: Want to play detective? This is yet another board game that is equally suitable for children and adults. Take charge of your badge, transport tickets and set out to nab Mr X.
Pictionary: Children may use simple words. But for party games for adults, the words can be more difficult, at times a bit naughty too. Team A gives the word to a member of team B and team B is supposed to guess the word with the help of drawings.
Blind man’s bluff: Blindfold one member and turn him or her around, so much that he or she forgets what was the initial direction of the room. Now let the blindfolded member go around and catch someone. The caught member will give out confusing sounds and the blindfolded member is supposed to guess the caught member.
Never ending story: We all love stories but do we all love making up stories? In this game idea for adults, a story is started by one member and each member goes on adding details to the story. The story line can go in any direction but the story is not supposed to end.
Guess the company: Everyone in the party is a grown up and aware of the various brands and their logos. Why not play a game to test the brand knowledge of the gathering. In the first attempt, the slogan is given. If not successful in deciphering, then the logo of the company is shown. It goes turn by turn and the person who is not able to answer is out. The question passes on to the next person.
Minute to win it: Inspired by the famous television show, this game can have similar setups in the party. Divide the group into teams. The team that can complete the maximum number of tasks in the given time is the winner.
Guess the baby food: As grownups, most of the members would have babies. Including a game around them can be fun. Prepare some sample of baby foods and ask teams to identify the flavours or grains in the food. The team guessing maximum correct answers wins the game.
Psychiatrist: One person becomes psychiatrist and leaves the room. The remaining members switch identities with each other. When the ‘psychiatrist’ re-enters, he or she is supposed to guess who is who based on question-answer sessions.
Parties are time to have fun and spend some time with friends and relatives. One need not have an excuse to throw a party. And to make the party lively and frolicking, the inclusion of games becomes a must. These party game ideas for adults need not be very complicated as no one would want to get involved in something very brainy. Keep it simple and straight and enjoy to the fullest.
