Why Teens Prefer To Stay Alone At Home?

Once your child crosses the stage of adolescence and becomes a teen he or she enters a stage so crucial. This is a time when they are made to go through several hormonal and psychological changes. These are moments when they can have new whims, they can even have tantrums. Thus, as a parent you have to be patient. You even have to be concerned and must have a keen notice of how your child is behaving and what are the things he is passionate about. It may be so that your child loves to be alone. He or she may have a passion to stay independent and alone.

Is this just a bent of mind and a sudden whim which indulges a teen to love a life so independent? There are reasons and signs for a teen to stay alone. In case it is just like now I am adult and I can stay alone, then it is fine. However, you should stay in watch that the teen is not turning delinquent. Then you would face problem in future if things would go out of hand. It is important for you to see that the kid is not concealing anything. He is not trying to hide something from you. Or he is not being unsocial.

Why Teens Prefer To Stay Alone At Home?

When the kid will pester you that he wants to sleep alone without having anyone around, this is the first sign that he wants to be left alone. Then, he may not want to attend parties and ask you to go alone. He prefers to stay back at home. He will say I am not feeling well and the like. So, you have to judge whether his reasons are genuine or the kid is just giving excuses for he has his own reasons to be alone.

Why do Kids want to be Alone?

There are Kids who Want Space - Yes this is a genuine reason why after an age the kids would love to have some space for themselves. They don't want to stay as mama's pet for long. They want to be innovative and independent.

Kids Want to Study Alone - There are kids who do not want to disturb their parents at night, as they would love to study on their own. They have the practice of studying at night on their own. This is the reason they may ask their parents to allow them stay alone in a separate room at night.

Family Disorder - In case the parents have a personal fight the kids will not prefer staying with them. They will try to stay away from the tension and for this they like having a separate compartment for them. Everyday fights and chaos will make the kids feel suffocated and for this they would like to stay alone.

Staying Alone is a Practice - It may be so that your kid has been staying in a hostel from childhood. When he comes back home he cannot stay with his parents in the same room. He demands space and would love to stay separate.

Addiction - Keep in watch whether your kid is having addiction. This is something dangerous. He may close his room and indulge in things which are not safe for health and existence. You have to watch out for the symptoms then, to help your kid overcome the addiction.

Being in Love - Your kid would want to stay alone in case he or she is in love. They would then have special things to say to the partner in privacy. It is normal then for them to crave to stay alone.
