Signs To Recognise 'Chronic Lateness'
Chronic lateness has just been given the status of a medical disorder. While research still needs to be done if latecomers actually have a medical problem or not, the fact remains that some people are perpetually late. Time management is something we all have to learn in today's fast paced world. And yet, there are people who suffer from chronic lateness.
It is not that these people cannot 'manage' time; they simply cannot be on time. Latecomers always have an excuse ready for why they are late. Unpunctuality is second nature for them. They do not realise that their chronic lateness gets them and the people around them into a lot of trouble. We all know at least one person in our lives who suffers from chronic lateness. It is actually a very common problem with many people.
Lets make it very clear that we are referring to incorrigible latecomers and not people who overshoot the time by a mere half an hour. Most of us have the habit of functioning according to IST (Indian Stretchable Time). But when a person overshoots the margins of this stretchable time as well, we say that he or she has a chronic lateness problem. Some typical signs can help you realise if you are one of the prestigious latecomers to enter the league of extraordinarily late people.
Here are some signs and situations that are indicators for chronic lateness.

You always set 4 alarms
That is because you are absolutely sure that you are going to snooze the first 3 alarms.

You were the last one to reach your wedding
Do you think you are the only person on this planet to be the last person to reach your own wedding? Don't worry you have a company.

You have never seen a whole movie in a theatre
That is because you always reach the movie theatre when the movie is just nearing climax. You have never made it on time.

You have turned up at every interview sweating
You are sweating because you usually arrive a good 30 minutes late and then run up the office stairs instead of waiting for the lift.

If you are invited for lunch, you usually reach by dinner
So people usually invite you for breakfast if they want to be at their place safely before lunch.

Your only experience of airports is running through them
You have never seen the inside of an airport clearly. That is because you always breeze past them when you are running to catch a flight.

You detest punctual people
You are deeply suspicious of punctual people and you hate their smug 'I am on time' expressions.

You never use public transport
That is because you can never make it on time to catch a bus, train or cab in time. It is much better to use your own transport.

You had too many late marks in your school diary
Your school diary was so full of late marks that you had to get a new one by the end of the year.

You have experience of missing several flights
You can always tell your friends how it is to sleep in the airports at night. This is because you have missed several last flights.

All your friends are equally late
You never notice that you are so late because all your friends are equally unpunctual. In fact, chronic latecomers are the only people who can be friends with you.

You love delayed flights
You are the only person delighted when a flight gets delayed. At least you have the chance of being on time on such rare occasions.

You never get your full salary
You swipe in late almost every day and your HR is compelled to deduct your salary for late coming just to teach you a lesson.

You enroll for time management courses but don't finish them
That is because you ended up coming late even to the time management classes. Your classes usually got over before you arrived.
