Da Vinci Conspiracy: 15 Things To Know
The Da Vinci conspiracy is not a new one. It dates back quite a few years. But it created a controversy on such a global scale that no one can ever forgot about it. The conspiracy theory caught wind with the publication of the book Da Vinci Code written by mystery writer Dan Brown. The book instantly became a bestseller and everybody was talking about it.
The core content of the Da Vinci conspiracy is that Leonardo Da Vinci was part of a secret society named the Priory Of Sion. This secret society was given a very special task of protecting the truth that Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene were married and sired a child. The holy bloodline of Jesus Christ lives on among the French royal families. The facts given in the Da Vinci conspiracy obviously did not match the story that the Catholic Church supported.
The painting of Mona Lisa was central to the entire Da Vinci conspiracy. The author Dan Brown seemed to suggest that Leonardo Da Vinci had left clues in his painting Mona Lisa and other works like the Last Supper that points to the secret of the Priory of Sion. The historical facts given in the book are impossible to verify and thus, the Da Vinci conspiracy remains little more than a conspiracy theory.
Here are some points to refresh your memory regarding the details of Da Vinci conspiracy.

Da Vinci Code
The book Da Vinci Code was published in April 2003. Within days of its publication it became a best seller.

The Mona Lisa
The story begins at the painting of the Mona Lisa. The Mona Lisa was supposed to be Leonardo Da Vinci's favourite painting.

The Clues
Many art historians say that Leonardo Da Vinci painted Mona Lisa in his own image. They also say that the painting represents the holy communion of male and female; that is, the Mona Lisa is half man and half woman.

The Last Supper
The clues lead to another one of Leonardo Da Vinci's paintings, The Last Supper. In this painting, Jesus Christ is supposed to be having his last meal with his apostles.

The Chalice
The Last Supper is the painting where the chalice in which Jesus Christ drank wine is supposed to be present. This chalice is commonly known as the Holy Grail or the 'Cup Of Christ'.

The Holy Grail
But Leonardo Da Vinci's 'Last Supper' shows no cup. Dan Brown seems to suggest that the Holy Grail or the cup that holds the blood of Christ is Mary Magdelene who is sitting next to Him in the painting.

The Sacred Feminine
The story goes forward to say that Jesus Christ and Mary make a 'V' shape in between them. The shape literally represents a 'chalice' or a woman's womb. In short, it represents the sacred feminine.

The Holy Bloodline
According to the Da Vinci conspiracy, Jesus Christ's holy blood line lives on through a female child who was born in Egypt.

Merovingian Dynasty
The book goes on to suggest that Merovingian Dynasty in France is a living proof of this bloodline. This is because the first queen in the Merovingian clan was impregnated by a fish. The fish is the oldest symbol for Christ.

The Priory Of Sion
The Priory of Sion is a secret society that was formed in order to protect the off-springs of the holy bloodline and carry the secret of the Holy Grail.

Leonardo Da Vinci
Leonardo Da Vince was supposedly a part of the Priory of Sion that was historically represented as a 'rose'.

Other Grand Masters
The other notable members of this secret society were Isaac Newton and the Knights of Templar.

The Louvre
The Palace of Louvre in Paris which is one of the largest art museums in the world plays a central role in Da Vinci conspiracy.

Glass Pyramid
In fact, Dan Brown also suggests that the Holy Grail actually rests under the glass pyramid at the Louvre.

Previous Precedents
Actually, Dan Brown did not propound a new theory while writing Da Vinci Code. This theory always existed and many writers have written about it before. 'Holy Blood Holy Grail' written by Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, and Henry Lincoln is a well-researched book on the same subject.
