Getting fired is an unpleasant but common reality in the job scenario these days. People are being shown the door all the time especially after the recession hit big time and settled lives went for a toss. You cannot stop what is coming your way but you need to be prepared for it. It would be nice if the pink slip came with a warning bell and not as a complete shocker.

Here are some tried and tested ways to know that you are getting fired soon. When you pick up any of these you may not be hundred percent sure that 'I will be fired' but its time for a making a career move.

1. You Have No Work Pressure: In this corporate scene where everybody complains of work pressure if you are floating free then may be its cause to worry. You have to understand that if you are getting fired soon then your responsibilities in the organisation will be minimized gradually so that there is no vacuum. No work pressure could mean no work soon.

2. People Whisper Suspiciously Around You: Have you walking to cafeteria followed by stiff silence? It means that people were talking about you and they stopped abruptly when you entered. It sure is uncomfortable because when it happens you need to ask yourself, 'Will I get get fired soon'?

3. You Are Not In The Loop: You no longer know what is happening in your office. Earlier you had been part of important recruitment decisions but now you walk into your office to see new faces and realise someone new has been hired. You an expect pink slip on its way if you are no longer consulted.

7. You Are Encouraged To Take A Sabbatical: Most companies these days have the option of unpaid sabbatical. If you casually mention your wish to study further and your boss jumps at it then you can be sure he has a 'fire list' on his desk!
