Romance Crushed By Technology

The latest study in UK revealed that couples prefer expressing via emails or text messages rather than writing love letters, like the good old days. Most couples would rather send a 'I luv you' than spend time to compose a letter.
A survey of 2,558 people showed email was preferred over pen and paper, with almost two-thirds (62 per cent) had never sent a love letter. However, more than two-thirds (69 per cent) had texted "I love you", or various abbreviations of the message, via a mobile phone, as reported by the Telegraph.
Andrew McLaughlin, from the National Trust, lamented: "Considering our rich history of romantic letter writers, this really does suggest that we are forgetting to make time for romance in modern Britain."
"As a country, we have produced some of the most romantic writing ever produced in any language from Shakespeare's sonnets to touching love letters written by Winston Churchill.
"Even Charles Darwin, while he was busy formulating his theories on natural selection on board the Beagle, found time to send beautifully moving love letters to his childhood sweetheart, Fanny Mosten Owen.
"Yet now we seem to have forgotten the value of putting our innermost feelings down in writing." Make this Valentine's a special one by writing a romantic letter to your loved one. AGENCIES
