Even Kiddo Girls Worry About Body Shape!

Little girls idolize the beautiful princess
Girls as young as three worry about putting on weight and not being in shape. Nearly half of the girls aged between 3 - 6 years get worried about being fat, even before they start school.

Experts observed that about one-third of the girls would go the extent of changing a physical attribute, such as their weight or hair colour.

Watching movies starring stereotypically thin and beautiful princess often influences young girls and their views of a perfect figure. Experts advice parents to encourage their young girls to watch animated movies as they are unlikely to spark off an urge for a slim body.

Tantleff Dunn from UCF's Laboratory for the Study of Eating, Appearance and Health, said that we need to help our children challenge the images of beauty, particularly in term of having the perfect figure. We should help them build a positive self-image with an appreciation for many different types of body attributes.
