Dance speaks all languages
With military affecting almost every sphere of life in , the people there long to see harmony and peace creep back into their land.

The hope of peace was reflected in a contemporary dance show named 'Dance For Peace' by i choreographer and Art Director N. K. Surjit. The show was held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Dance Academy, Imphal.

The objective of the show was to convey the message of everyone"s wish for restoration of peace and harmony in the State.

Surjit developed a new dance form. The dance show also served as a platform to encourage aspiring dancers. Six male and five female dancers along with three child artists performed at the show.

"Amidst conflict in , I initiated the artists and dancers of the state so that through this we can provide relief and peace of mind and divert their attention to these form of entertainment," said Surjit.

The objective was to create awareness among the people of especially the youth that dance is a mirror of our feelings. Dance cuts across the barriers of caste, creed, race and gender. It is better to create a masterpiece through dancing that to use the energy in unsocial acts.

Dance For Peace attracted a large number of people including theatre and dance personalities.
