A.R Rahman Nominated For 3 Oscars

AR Rahman has been nominated for the 'Best original score' and twice in the 'Best Song' category for the super hit 'Slumdog Millioner'. The movie has won ten prestigious nominations including Best Motion Picture category, Best Director-Danny Boyle and Best Adapted Screenplay- Simon Beaufoy. It is an emotional and a hilarious tale of a little slum dweller's 'rags to riches' story with Mumbai in the background.
However leading the race is 'Curious case of Benjamin Button' with 13 Oscar nominations. The movie is about the character played by Brad Pitt, who ages backwards.
'Slumdog Millioner' has also bagged nominations for best picture, best adapted screenplay and best director for Danny Boyle. Competing for the best picture are also a British film along with The Curiuos Case of Benjamin Button, Milk and The Reader.
However 'Slumdog Millioner' and Kate Winslet are the most anticipated contenders at the Oscars, leading the nominations. Winslet has been nominated for the 'best actress' category for her movie 'The Reader' but none for 'The revolutionary road'. The actress won Golden Globes for both the films.
Not winning the Oscar could make Kate Winslet the biggest 'Loser' in the history of the event, as she has been nominated fivr times but never won the statue. AGENCIES
