Mumbai : Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir said love, peace and harmony are the essence of true religion.
He was speaking after releasing a book, 'Vichar Aur Nirvichar' authored by Acharya Mahapragya, Spiritual Head of the Jain Terapanth, at Raj Bhavan.
If every person follows his or her own religion, there will be perfect peace in society, he said while paying rich tributes to Jainism.
Dr Jamir said religion had laid great emphasis on truth and non-violence and Jain community should come forward to play the role of a peace-maker in today's strife-ridden society.
