'Spot-It' - The Smart Machine Vision Cameras
"Dreams are not what you see during the sleep but that do not allow you to sleep." This is a statement once made by Bill Gates, the soul of software giant Microsoft mentioning the efforts and dedication behind the materialization of any dream. After too many sleepless nights and sweat shedding days, on 1st December Saturday, it was a relaxed or rather proud day for Indian electronics and software company Soliton as on the day the dream project of the company was launched officially before media persons and invitees. The product named 'Spot-It', by all means, is a dream materialized for the company and for the world yet another worthy invention from India, the land of intelligence and vision.
Spot-It may be called 'smart digital cameras'. But they are in fact smarter than the images and imaginations you have about a digital camera. Spot-It is the digital camera exclusively made for manufacturing divisions or complex industrial tasks. As the name indicates, the camera could spot out any minute error or defect during an industrial operation. Spot-It could be categorized as a machine vision camera. The cameras are linked to an analysing unit shrunk in a palmtop sized box. The instrument when connected to an industrial process can detect and report errors happening as it happens and even can reject the defected products.
The product is of great help to manufacturers as it works as an error free quality controller thus saving time and energy of manual labour. The beta version is already on run in few of the multinational companies like Mico and Hindustan Pencils. The company at the proud launching ceremony announced that Spot-It is the first of it's kind and the cheapest digital quality checking device which comes at a price less than two lakhs. The device comes with a unique software designed for the product, which is easy to use even for an untrained person on it.
Spot-It is not just a new product but a new concept and thus an Invention. Defect free quality products could be manufactured with the help of this device. At the initial stage, five different models of the device are ready to hit the markets, among them each fits different industrial needs. Company Spokesperson, during the launch, assured post-selling service and no-time customer care anywhere the country.
