Just A Pause: Come Play!!

By Super

We have been hearing this phrase quite a lot since of late. It has become synonymous with the Twenty20 World Cup Cricket 2007. And yes!! We can really apply this to our everyday lives, with the Indian Cricket Team as a standing example. Jeet aur Har are part and parcel of life.

What's the purpose of a game? The purpose of a game is to enjoy the experience – to have fun. Another reason for playing games is to grow, since games can be wonderful teachers. Having fun and growing sounds like a nice way to spend real life, doesn't it?
What makes for a good game player? To answer this question, you'll probably imagine someone who's a good sport, who makes an effort to play his/her best.

If life is a game, how good a player are you? Do you play full out for the enjoyment of the experience? Do you care about your performance and take time to hone your skills? Are you a good sport? Do you embrace the whole game, or resist some part of it?

When you play a game that's bigger than you, you feel overwhelmed. It's too much to handle, and depending on the degree of determination, you may sooner or later give up. It is easier to play a game where you feel in control. Hence, some of us get caught up in the education game, the career game, the financial security game, the family game, the workplace politics game, the fitness game and many other smaller games.

Have you heard of a successful leader who is scorned by his wife, or, an award-winning actor who is addicted to alcohol? This happens when we play only parts of the game. We sit on the sidelines, worrying about the complexities of the world instead of embracing them.

Life is such that you learn the rules as you play, however big or small the game be. Some people seem naturally good at life that is. They seem to sail through, being successful and happy and everything always seems to fall into place.

For most of us, some times life can be a bit of a struggle. People are difficult, things that don't go our way, there"s too much to deal with and we don"t know how to make it all all right again.

What is it that they know, that we don't? The only way to lose the game of life is not to play. When you actively play the game, you gain skill and experience. Keep playing, and you"ll eventually build yourself.

What would an experienced player say to a character who sits on the sidelines, complaining incessantly about how hard it is to score, how bad the pitch is, how nobody is a good teammate, etc? I imagine the response would be something like, "Hey Dude! Quit whining and go play!"

Rules, rules, rules! A game is only as good as its rules, and how well we play the game is defined by how well we follow the rules. But…

Hey guys...I have news for you……….Life is the only game in which the object of the game is to learn the rules...and we might as well enjoy playing…while we are at it!!

So, shall we start at Love All?!
