Mothers Day 2023: How To Be A Responsible And Caring Mother Inspite Of Being A Single Mom
Single mom phenomenon isn't new to society. There are countless examples of such women right from ancient times, from labourers with poor economic background, the abandoned women to the divorced ladies, who have stayed strong, taking care of their children singlehandedly.
A classic example that one is reminded of at this juncture is Sylvestor Stallone's mom who really deserves a Nobel for making her physically handicapped son a star celebrity. Years of pain and struggle went into it.

We have heard of physically, mentally and, economically challenged women in India. Then there are single women who are socially challenged.
Single mom has to be both mother and father to the child and indeed the child is a full-time investment for them. A single mom has her own life that she needs to fortify for the sake of her child.
Modern day mothers usually have all the facilities and child care arrangements so that they can fulfil their job and motherly responsibilities very well. However, she is required to fight the external as well as internal battles successfully and treat each day as a new day to look forward to.
In the meanwhile, they should also see that they do not fall prey to depression or negativity. Today's woman is brave enough to live life for herself, as it suits her. She is wise, takes pragmatic decisions and carries them out to perfection.
For
a

it
is
a
constant
fight
to
be
herself

time,
in
her
elements,
sane
and
balanced.
The
difference
between
Married
women
and
single
moms:
Married
women
have
husbands
to

on,
emotionally,
as
well
as
in
every

way,
and
share

rearing
responsibilities
equally.
But Single women are like Goddess Durga, who wield several armors in their 16 hands at the same time because Life toughens them and she is really a man in the making. She has to kill her emotions, rise like a phoenix, resurrect herself and be hard headed without any bitter taste about life left in the mouth.
For some women, spirituality gives the required mental and moral strength. She is an emotionally drained sometimes, but gets herself charged through certain techniques like meditation.
Sometimes, she may have to shoulder the home responsitibities if she is not really well off..Then again, safety factors are also a prime consideration. She needs to protect herself with extra layers of protection in all the ways..
Whether she stays in an apartment or an individual home, security is a real concern. In case she is staying at parental home, she should see that she is economically independent and even contribute a bit to the family's expenditure. Economical and emotional independence is a boon for an independent woman.
A single mother has to put up a tough face for the sake of the child. She has to look strong during all adversities for the sake of the child. Her morale should not sink.
In spite of her all-other preoccupations, she has to be physically present for a considerable time for her kid on an everyday basis for her child to grow up normally.
It is a lot of stress but Indian women have overcome it gracefully. We have carefully disciplined our kids, are so patient and never let our anxiety show on our faces. Emotional care and support which the child needs, we give in plenty. It does look like a superhuman task, but a mother battles it all with a smile, as she is a mother who is determined not to let her child down in any way,
Facing society is a choice left to her. Mostly single women these days, do not have any hesitation or inhibition in facing people whether they are single or with kids. There are scores of Indian women who are single moms and in the western countries it is norm of the day.
How Should A Single Mom Handle Her Responsibility: Children perform well in most areas of their lives when their parents offer them warmth, prompt responses and are flexible as parents. Set rules but appreciate them when they show positivity and give them the security they need.
Quality time and attention should be given to them. If your kid is an adolescent, and is exhibiting problematic behaviour, support from professionals should be sought. Personally don't neglect yourself as a person, you will be doing a great service to you and your child by looking after yourself.
