Miyazaki: Guess The Price Of World's Costliest Mango, It Is Mind Boggling!
A sunny day and a plate full of juicy mangoes is a match made in heaven. This versatile fruit is more of an emotion and in India, which is also known as mango season, this fruit influences a lot of delicacies, be it a starter, main course, dessert or drinks.
A popular tropical fruit, in this country, it is available in abundance and it is also very easy on the pockets during summer so people buy kilos of this mouth-watering fruit just to savour its divine taste.

Recently, Industrialist Harsh Goenka posted a picture of the 'world's costliest mango' Miyzaki on Twitter and the price of his humble fruit is blowing everyone's mind away. He wrote, 'The unusual ruby-coloured Japanese breed of mango, Miyazaki is said to be world's costliest mango, sold at Rs 2.7 lakh per kg. Parihar a farmer in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh has hired three security guards and 6 dogs to secure the two trees.'
The post has gone viral and it has garnered 2.8k likes and people have expressed their opinions on the internet. While some said that probably due to the colour of the mango, people are finding it appealing and that they have never seen it before, others have said that '40rs kg mangoes also taste good.'
About Miyazaki: A Japanese Breed Mango
Miyazaki is a breed of mango that hails from the Miyazaki city in Japan and it is predominantly grown during the peak harvest season in the country, which spans from April to August. The colour is purple and when it becomes ripe, it turns into flaming red.
Talking about luxurious fruits, Miyazaki mango wears the crown as the world's costliest mango, and in India, this exquisite fruit is priced at an eye-watering Rs 2.5 lakh per kilogram.
Also, as per a TNIE news report, horticulture officials have recently acquired a Miyazaki mango from Madhya Pradesh for a staggering Rs 40,000. The fruit was acquired to be showcased at a fair or Mela in Kopppal. This mela is a hub for farmers and fruit enthusiasts who are eager to catch a glimpse of the fruit.
Originally hailing from Miyazaki city in Japan, this mango variety is predominantly grown during the peak harvest season, which spans from April to August. The Miyazaki mango undergoes a mesmerizing transformation as it ripens. Initially, its colour is purple, however, once it reaches its peak ripeness, it turns into flaming red.
Talking about the size, it weighs approximately 350 grams, however, if the conditions are favourable, it can grow up to 900 grams. Apart from Japan, this fruit is not cultivated in India, Thailand, Bangladesh and the Philippines.
Specific conditions are required to grow this exotic and luxurious fruit and develop its flavours- warm weather, abundant rainfall and prolonged exposure to sunlight.
Apart from Miyazaki, there are 6 other mangoes that are popular around the world and cherished for their distinguished taste- Alphanso, Chausa, Carabao, Diamond, Ataulfo and Tommy Atkins.
