The much anticipated 71st edition of Miss World will be held in India from February 18 to March 9. After almost thirty years, the prestigious international beauty pageant is returning to the nation.

It is one of the oldest and most prestigious beauty pageants in the world. The competition brings together contestants from various countries who compete in categories such as evening wear, swimwear, and talent, among others.

The pageant focuses not only on physical beauty but also on intelligence, talent, and humanitarian efforts. Contestants are expected to participate in various activities and projects that promote social causes.

Here's a list of contestants from the top 12 countries who will participate in the 72nd Miss World pageant.

Mariela Fuschs - Argentina
Mariela had studied Agricultural Science and Music and is currently working as a teacher in an Education Support Centre. Mariela is an active participant in the orchestra and plays the violin and double bass among other instruments. She enjoys sports and has a passion for dancing, volleyball, paddle tennis and gardening.

Kristen Wright - Australia
Kristen is studying for a Degree in Biomedical Science and wishes to pursue a career in Paediatric Speech Pathology. A National Gymnast for over 10 years she is also the youngest Scuba Instructor in Victoria. Kristen is also a published children's author and her other hobbies include surfing, motorbike riding, horse riding and hiking.

Leticía Frota - Brazil
Leticia is an entrepreneur and digital influencer. She is currently studying Psychology and would like to specialize in Neuropsychology and wants to work with young children and teenagers. She is passionate about her work with the Riverside people of the Amazon and works for Global Appeal for Leprosy.

Jaime Vandenberg - Canada
Jaime Vandenberg is an international model and University of Lethbridge graduate born in Lethbridge, Alberta. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in May with Honours and a concentration in legal reasoning. Jaime is well known internationally for her activism and volunteerism towards gender equality.

Kexin Xu - China
After studying Performing Arts at University, Kexin is working as a model now. She is passionate about equality and human rights. As well as being a National Athlete, Kexin enjoys boxing, dancing and drawing. Her favourite films are Oppenheimer and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Jessica Gagen - England
Jessica is an Aerospace Engineering Graduate and would like to continue her studies with a Master's in Advanced Aerospace Engineering she also has ambitions to present Educational TV documentaries about Engineering and Technology, which will be aimed at getting more girls interested in this career path. Jessica also enjoys running and flying and works as a Fashion Model.

Clémence Botino - France
Passionate about fashion, Clémence Botino became interested in music during her adolescence and became a pianist and then a dancer, especially in salsa. At the age of 17, she lived for a year in the United States and studied costume at an international school in Miami, to perfect her English. With her ambition to become a cultural heritage curator, she specialized in the study of fashion history.

Aleksandra Modić - Germany
Aleksandra Modic, a 24-year-old student from Wetzlar, was crowned Miss World Germany 2024. She is a passionate advocate for environmental protection and animal welfare. Aleksandra has a Bachelor of Arts and is currently working on a master's in International Marketing. She enjoys playing tennis and spending time with her dog.

Kana Yamaguchi - Japan
After completing a Degree in Sports Science and Education, Kana is currently working as a TV Anchor, a Physical Education Trainer and a Model. She would like to one day own her own Health and Fitness Brand. She likes to describe herself as a 21st-century Japanese girl with a Samurai Spirit. I follow my ambitions with all my strength and I practice self-discipline.

Navjot Kaur - New Zealand
A 27-year-old former Police Officer is set to represent New Zealand at the 2nd edition of the Miss World beauty contest in India. As a member of the Sikh community, Navjot believes that her representation helps to showcase New Zealand's diversity to the world. Following her departure from the New Zealand Police, she pursued personal training and recently acquired a Real Estate license.

Paula Pérez - Spain
26-year-old Paula has acquired a Medicine degree and Surgery and works as a resident Doctor in the emergency department of La Ribera Hospital. She sings, plays the piano and practised ballet since she was a child. Paula also collaborates with the Little Wish Foundations to fulfil the dreams of children with serious or terminal illnesses.

Victoria DiSorbo - United States
Victoria has studied communications at University and is the Vice-President of Operations and Marketing and an Ambassador for Angels for Humanity. She is also the author of two books and wishes to one day appear in the New York Times Best Seller List. She enjoys ballroom dancing, water sports, playing the piano and public speaking. Victoria has worked with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for over 15 years and recently lobbied government officials to improve the lives of those living with Cystic Fibrosis.
