On Friday, 19 July 2024, the global Microsoft outage disrupted multiple sectors, including flights, supermarkets, and banking operations and this has led to social media users keeping themselves occupied with hillarious memes.

This major server outage that disrupted users' access to various Microsoft 365 apps and services which has possibly occured due to the failure of CrowdStrike, a cybersecurity platform that provides security solutions for Microsoft Windows. Soon after the major cyber outage hit several IT systems across the world, Microsoft occupied the top spot on the trends list on X.

The cyber outage affected critical services across the world, including India, Australia, Germany, the United States, the UK, and other countries.The outage affected banks, telecoms, media outlets and airlines, in Australia.

Emergency 911 services were disrupted in many parts of the United States, and non-emergency call centres were also not working due to the outage.
