This Is A Village Where There Are No Doors
Crazy but a fact!
The world needs to know that there is a village in India where the houses have no doors, the bank has no gates but still, there's no scandal here! Yes, we are talking about the village which is about 300 km east of Mumbai, Shani Shingnapur.
Shani Shingnapur, a popular village located in Ahmednagar in the state of Maharashtra is known for having houses with no doors.
According to the locals, they don't need to lock their houses because they are blessed with special protection power from the Hindu deity, Shani. Shani Shingnapur is also famous for its temple where devotees come to worship God, Shani Dev.
Continue reading to know more about the powerful temple of Shani Dev and also the fact on why there are no doors in this place called Shani Shingnapur.

The Story Associated With This Belief
According to the ancient facts, it is said that years ago the Hindu god, Shani came in the dream of a devotee where he told that they don't need to put doors in the home. Shani said that he will protect the villagers and since then there have been no front doors in the houses of the village.

A Bank With No Doors!
Getting inspired by the tradition of the village, the United Commercial (UCO) Bank opened a ‘lockless' branch where the bank had no doors. Yes, even a bank in this place of Maharashtra has no doors. This bank was first of its kind in the country. The door-less bank was opened in 2011 and today, it has more than 3700 account holders.

A Bank Employee Has To Say This...
A bank employee says, "No bank can run without proper security arrangements and locker facility. We have a door but it does not have a conventional lock. It has a remote controlled electromagnetic lock. We cannot blatantly break the traditions here, but we cannot compromise on security either."

The Belief Behind Why There Are No Doors
The villagers think that if a person steals anything from the village, he will face bad luck in the future. They say a person will suffer from Sade Saati, a period of seven and a half years of bad luck. Villagers also believe that Shani's power is indisputable and he keeps eye on each of the members of the village. Anyone trying to do wrong will certainly face bad luck in the near future.

Crime Rate That Is Almost Nil!
Ever wondered about the theft and crime rate in the village? For centuries, there have been no thefts or crimes recorded in the village. There was a case from 2010, where a man lost items worth Rs. 35,000 from the vehicle. Another theft case came in 2012, where some gold ornaments were stolen from the temple.
These incidents were not able to shake the belief of the villagers and they continued to stay in the house without doors. Villagers are happy and live in peace in their door-less homes.
However, there are a few villagers who are shaken by theft and pickpocketing in the village and hence they have demanded doors in their houses. They have been facing bad times from the other villagers, as they believe this is against their faith towards Shani.

But Some Have Started Adding Doors To Their Houses
On the other hand, some people who live on the borders of the village have started adding doors to their houses in order to ensure the safety of their family. These people believe it makes no sense in living in the house with no doors. They worship Lord Shani but believe that the safety of their family is also mandatory.
It is also said that many of the theft cases go unreported due to the pressure from the villagers' end. The economy of the village revolves around the temple and hence their belief towards god is more important.
