This unique family is known by their name De Silva's and 14 members of this family have this unique characterstic, as they are all born with 12 fingers and toes each.
The Recent Addition….
According to a leading tabloid, this family recently welcomed their youngest member who is a baby boy born with the same rare genetic abnormality as well. The family believes that having this abnormality is a unique mark about their identity and it is something that they do not have to be worried about.
This Is Due To A Medical Condition…
This condition is caused by the genetic syndrome that is called ‘Polydactyly'. According to a research, it is revealed that 1 out of 1000 people is said to be born with this disorder.
The Doctors Reveal…
The doctors revealed, "There are a variety of mutations that result in this condition but in the case of just having extra fingers and toes, then we're looking at a misexpression of a gene which normally results in the patterning of your digits.."
They Further Added
Explaining a little more in detail, the doctors revealed, "If either your mum or your dad has extra digits, then you stand a 50/50 chance of getting the same type."
The Family Believes
This family is known to be a thriving bunch, as they believe that their extra digits are an asset and it helps them perform in a better way when compared to regular people.
