WIFW’15: Malini Ramani’s Cuts & Textures
On the 2nd day of WIFW 2015, Malini Ramani gave us a stunning peak into what textures and cuts can do. We can say in an unabashed way that this is so far one of our favourite collections at Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week 2015 Spring Summer. The entire collection is predominantly black and brown. Towards the end we get to see a few glimpses of gold.
WIFW 2015 collection of Malini Ramani had lots of cut out and sheer details. The necklines were carved out ‘U' that was highlighted with sequins.

We got to see a few kaftan gowns but most of the outfits were side slit gowns or dresses with asymmetrical hemlines. It was interesting to note that some of the gowns had a dhoti pant finish.

Basically, Malini Ramani experimented with a plethora of forms. We saw an excellent fringe jacket that really impressed us. There was also a long shrug that was worn over a leotard. In fact, we even spotted a saree style gown. So far, no other designer presenting at WIFW 2015 has shown such variety of forms in their collection.

The detailing of this collection was done by mesh for a sheer effect, sequins for dazzle and sea shells for textures. The cuts of the outfits were sharp making them look sensual. The styling was very exotic as the models wore gladiator wedges and head tattoos.
