Shilpa & Aditi In Black Dresses Fresh From Ramp

The India Couture Week 2014 at Delhi has just got over and we have already started spotting clothes from the collections displayed there being worn by celebrities at various events. At the recently held Vogue Beauty Awards 2014, we spotted Shilpa Shetty in a black dress that looked vaguely familiar. This cut-out gown was from Monisha Jaising's ICW 2014 collection.

Imagine our surprise when we saw Aditi Rao Hydari also in a little black dress. This outfit was another Monsiha Jaising creation. But we identified it immediately because this asymmetrical dress had caught our eye on the ramp.

In fact, this is one of my favourite dresses from Monisha Jaising's World Bride collection. Both Shilpa Shetty and Aditia Rao Hydari were in black dresses that belonged to Monisha Jaising's latest collection. Looks like Monisha will sell out all her outfits before the week is over!

Both the celebrities wore the dress rather well at the Vogue Beauty Awards 2014. Aditi accessorised her little black dress minimally. The dress itself was so gorgeous that she did not have to do much. Shilpa Shetty was in this black dress looking totally chic. We loved the way she painted her talons to match her dress.

Shilpa Shetty: Off The Ramp

Shilpa Shetty has made some minor adjustments to the dress that came directly off the ramp. She has added a black panel to cover up the deep plunging neckline of the gown. Though it doesn't look very different, Shilpa could have carried off the original dress as well.

Shilpa Shetty: Hairstyle

Shilpa Shetty pulled her thick hair into a high pony to match the youthful exuberance of this gown. She let some of the fringes of her hair hang loose.

Shilpa Shetty: Makeup

Shilpa looked pretty in dark doe eyed makeup and glossy lips. Her large eyes look stunning with thick black eyeliner.

We appreciate the effort that Shilpa Shetty took to get her nails manicured in monochrome pattern. Not only did it match her dress but also enhanced the beauty of the cocktail ring she is wearing.

Aditi Rao Hydari: Off The Ramp

Aditi Rao Hydari has just picked our favourite little black dress from the ramp. She did not make any changes to this bonded fabric dress with golden embroidery. The embroidery of this dress is inspired by the three gates of the City Palace in Jaipur.

Aditi Rao Hydari: Side Swept Hair

Aditi Rao Hydari kept her hair side swept over her shoulder. Her hair was heavily gelled and held in place.

Aditi Rao Hydari: Red Lips

She painted her lips blood red in colour and that really added a blob of colour and depth to the black and gold outfit.

Aditi Rao Hydari: Patent Pumps

Aditi Rao Hydari wore patent black high heel pumps that had gold shaded heels. There was no better way to accessorise this dress.

Head-to-head

If we do a head-to-head comparison, then Shilpa Shetty wore her dress better but Aditi Rao Hydari's dress was a stunner. However, we feel that this dress would have looked better on someone who has a fuller figure.
