IIJW 2014: Shapes Of Gold From Sun Jewels
On Day 3 of IIJW 2014, we have not seen any big celebrity names so far. However, if the day lacks in star power, it surely makes up in terms of creative genius. We have seen some really creative jewellery collections go live today on the ramp of IIJW 2014. Sun Jewels is one such collection sponsored by National Design Institute.
The collection put up by Sun Jewels at IIJW 2014 was characterised by a disregard for tradition. This gold collection portrayed the new avant-garde jewellery designs. There were many designs that were totally unwearable in this collection.
IIJW 2014: GANJAM TEMPLE JEWELLERY COLLECTION
However, full marks for creativity though. When there is a jewellery week that drags on for sometime, you tend to get bored looking at the same type of bridal or chic jewellery over and over again.
But while watching the Sun Jewels collection for IIJW 2014, you can be anything but bored. The designers experimented with style, form and texture of the jewels. They went for bold designs that were totally unconventional. The three dimensional shapes were the most interesting aspect of the collection.

The Sun Pendant
We rarely see the sun pendant being visualised in this way. It was a sun pendant but a far cry from the conventional one.

Floral Wire
The thick gold wires were twisted strategically to form floral shapes. The necklace is totally classy but even the earring on their own are rather striking.

The Elliptical
The golden wires create an elliptical structure around the neck. When you look at this structure in 3D, it looks like a ellipse.

Joker's Frills
Judging by the complete look achieved with the clown's hat, this necklace is inspired from the frills at a clown's collar. Totally unwearable but creative nonetheless.

Boat Neck Frills
This set of frilly necklace is much more wearable. The metallic frill is almost like an extension of the dress.

Coin & Fringe Necklace
This set is made up of a string of round gold coins and a bunch of fringes. The earrings are a long string of coins. This is one of the best designs in the collection.

Coin & Chain Set
This layered set is created with concentric layers of gold chain interluded with golden coins. This too is a wearable and trendy design.

Chain & Flowers
This golden chain was intercepted with floral patterns. This is another really chic neck piece that can be worn with Western as well as Indian clothes.

Concentric Circles
This optical illusion necklace and bracelet is built out of concentric golden circles. This kind of a neck piece might look difficult to wear, but you must say salute the creative genius of the designer.
