IBFW 2014: Raghavendra Rathore’s Relics
The stage is set for the legend of Raghavendra Rathore to bring the ‘relics' out of his wardrobe. As the designer has professed himself, he is going to "re-invent relics from our history" for the IBFW 2014 collection. This is Day 2 of BMW India Bridal Fashion Week 2014 and we are waiting for the classic show of Raghavendra Rathore's ‘Reincarnating Relics' to begin.
Finally, we are awarded by a sighting that was worth the wait. Raghavendra Rathore's IBFW 2014 collection redefines the traditional Indian bride and groom. What we like the most about this collection is how the dhoti has been used as a garment of preference for the grooms and asymmetrical skirts for the brides. Dhoti styles from different parts of the country have been displayed on the ramp of IBFW 2014 for us. Another feature that caught our eye was the long waist coat that was used extensively.
At last, out comes the showstopper. The gorgeous Aditi Rao Hydari lookls regal in a Raghavendra Rathore creation here. She was wearing a white saree with a full-sleeved brocade jacket. The pallu was wrapped over her neck and her hair was pulled into a half pony. The other celebrity showstopper was Ali Fazal who was dressed in a pink bandhgala acchan. But the real stars of the evening were the kids who turned models for this traditional collection.

Reincarnating Relics
The ramp was set up like a old glass house for this collection. The models walked out to the ramp from a backstage that was decorated with stain glass.

The Pretty Pink Groom
Can you image a groom wearing pink? Looks like Raghavendra Rathore can. He created with awesome outfit of bright pink dhoti and kurta teamed up with a golden waistcoat.

Kids Turn Models
These kids were decked up in Raghavendra Rathore's traditional wear and walked on the ramp with the gorgeous models.

Golden Jodhpuris With Black Bandhgala
This groom is looking dapper in golden coloured Jodhpuris with a blingy black bandhgala coat. This is Raghavendra Rathore at his best.

Bandhgala Tops
This top combines the features of a high low top and a traditional bandhgala kurta. The final effect is quite stunning.

Asymmetrical Skirts
As the grooms shone in dhotis, the brides seem to have found solace in partially sheer asymmetrical skirts.

Groom In Black n Gold
Black and gold make a striking combination. And in a dhoti this colour combination looks surprisingly regal.

The White Relic Bride
The showstopper for the evening was Aditi Rao Hydari. She walked out in a dazzling white saree with zardosi work and

The Showstopper Groom
‘Fukrey' actor Ali Fazal was dressed in a pink acchan, long waistcoat and a plain white dhoti from Raghavendra Rathore's couture.

White Brocade
GroomsRaghavendra Rathore gave us some traditional outfits in white and ivory. The golden embroidery on these different styles of kurtas and dhotis was fascinating.

Shades Of Maroon
Maroon is usually a shade that is used for the bride. But even the grooms can look dapper in maroon colour. Check out these grooms in varying shades of burnt brick colour.

Smooth Like Velvet
Raghavendra Rathore created stunning designs out of velvet. Be it the long velvet waistcoats or the velvety bandhgalas; the designs are exquisite.
