We all know that the House Of Windsor is expecting a royal heir in the month of July. But as the time draws near, the speculations about the royal baby's name are sky high. What will Prince William and Kate Middleton call their baby? Will it be a standard British name or some bizarre one keeping with the trend of other celebrity kid's names.

The buzz in town goes that the royal baby names have already been short-listed and even finalised. There are 2 different set of names in case the royal baby is either a girl or a boy. Prince William and Kate Middleton's baby will have a name that suits a heir to the British throne. The royal baby's name will be taken from the seniors of the British royal family as tradition dictates.

It is a commonly practiced royal tradition to name the babies after their fathers and grandfathers. Similarly, the girls are named after the matriarchs of their royal family. That is why we have British Kings named Henry I, Henry IV all the way up to the notorious Henry VIII! When it comes to queens, Elizabeth and Victoria seem to be the most favourite names that have been used several times.

So if Prince William and Kate Middleton's baby is a little boy, he will be named after his great-grandfather. Yes, in case its a royal baby boy, he will be named Philip. It so appears that Prince William is very fond of his grandfather, King Philip. So, he chose a royal baby name that would be a tribute to this grandfather. It would also mean that the baby boy could turn out to be a benevolent king like his great-grandfather.

If Kate Middleton gives birth to a baby girl ?(as we suspect will be the case), then she will have a very unique name. To commemorate the two most important women in Prince William's life, the baby girl will be named Elizabeth Diana. Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana might not have been on the best of terms in their lifetime, but their respective great-grandchild or grandchild will close the rift forever.

Kate Middleton had mistakenly let slip the gender of her unborn child few week earlier. She had alluded to the fact that she is carrying a girl child.
