Nargis Fakhri Vs Esha Gupta At IBFW 2013

The Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2013 has brought many Bollywood beauties on the ramp together. Nargis Fakhri and Esha Gupta are two of the celebrities who walked as showstoppers for different designers at the IBFW 2013. If you are wondering why we are pitting them against each other, then it is obviously not without a valid reason.

Both Nargis Fakhri and Esha Gupta wore orange lehengas on the runway for IBFW 2013. Nargis Fakhri walked for designer duo Ashima and Leena on Day 4 of India Bridal Fashion Week 2013. On Day 5, we saw Esha Gupta walk the ramp in a similar orange and gold lehenga by designer Adarsh Gill.

So a comparison between the two bridal outfits is inevitable. Bridal fashion is limited in many ways. For example, orange is one of the few accepted bridal colours in India. So it is no big coincidence that both Nargis and Esha were seen in orange lehengas at IBFW 2013.

Here are some of the finer points of comparison between Nargis Fakhri and Esha Gupta's bridal outfits.

Orange n Gold Combination

Orange n Gold Combination

Both Nargis and Esha wore orange and golden lehenga cholis but the proportion of these colours was reversible. Nargis's lehenga was solid gold in colour and embroidered with orange lace. Esha's lehenga was orange with golden embroidery.

Anarkali Blouse

Anarkali Blouse

Nargis Fakhri's choli was long and in the Anarkali style keeping with the theme of the collection. Her choli also has sheer full-sleeves.

Short Sleeved Choli

Short Sleeved Choli

Esha Gupta wore a proper choli that had short sleeves and was cropped. The neck was rounded and the design was pretty basic.

Jewellery

Jewellery

Nargis Fakhri wore antique golden jewellery that matched the golden look of her outfit. Esha Gupta wore diamond jewellery with hints of rubies that was much more contemporary.

Embroidery On Lehenga

Embroidery On Lehenga

Nargis Fakhri's lehenga had no embroidery. It had a sheer orange lace border instead. Esha Gupta's lehenga was bottom heavy in terms or ornate golden embroidery.

Drapes

Drapes

As far as the drapes are concerned, we didn't like Esha Gupta's much. There was too much embroidery on it and it was a bit loud. Nargis on the other hand carried a beautiful sheer drape with dappled embroidery.

Hairstyle

Hairstyle

Nargis Fakhri kept her hair side swept and open. Esha chose to have a neatly tied up hairstyle.

Floral Touch

Floral Touch

Esha Gupta's ensemble looked more traditionally Indian because she adorned her hair with flowers. White roses were stuck into her neat bun.

The Regal Touch

The Regal Touch

Nargis Fakhri looked more like a queen than a bride as she wore layers of golden beads like a tiara.

Scooped Back

Scooped Back

Nargis Fakri's outfit had a greater 'hot' appeal because the back of her choli was deeply scooped. But Esha's head was covered with the drape and we were unable to see her back.

The Verdict

The Verdict

In the end, we think Nargis Fakhri looked more bridal in the Ashima and Leena outfit than Esha Gupta in her demure Adarsh Gill lehenga choli.
