Day 1 India Bridal Fashion Week 2013
The much awaited India Bridal Fashion Week 2013 has commenced. The ramp saw gorgeous designs and creations on the very first day of the India Bridal Fashion Week 2013. JJ Valaya opened the first day of the IBFW 2013 with ‘The Maharaja of Madrid' collection. ‘The Maharaja of Madrid' is a collection by JJ Valaya and also showcased 'To Die For' is a collection by designer duo, Shantanu and Nikhil.
Both the designers set an ambiance of the Mughal era. For showcasing JJ Valaya's collection, big white royal umbrellas were set which depicted the scene of some king's court, with models sitting on the thrones wearing white ensembles and chunky Indian jewellery, like king and queens of Mughal Era. Apart from showcasing his collection at India Bridal Fashion Week, JJ Valaya also tried something different. The models presented his collection and dancers on the background performed Kathak dance in synchronization with another dancer, who in a red evening gown, did a Spanish foot tapping dance.
His collection is divided into 5 sub-inspirations and is an amalgamation of Spanish and Indian elements. The first section of JJ Valaya's 'The Maharaja of Madrid' collection was inspired by lace, traditional lehengas, sherwanis with bandh galla, sarees etc. Even fringed shawls of Spain, bolero jackets and big floral, jacquard embroidered lehengas inspired by Spanish tradition were really seen beautifully blended with Indian attires. Floor sweeping, long spaghetti strapped dress with a criss-cross back added a different glam to the show.
Even Shantanu and Nikhil's 'To Die For' collection focussed on the soft and beautiful bride who always embraces everything feminine and dotes on chic and contemporary fashion.
