A haunted place should ideally be located at the back of beyond in some dark and dingy corner. Haunted houses are most often deserted and no one dares to venture into this cursed property. But haunted hotels are quite unlike haunted houses. They are thriving in terms of people and business.

This legendary hotel is located on the Hollywood walk of fame and still frequented by Hollywood celebrities. The most famous ghost of Marilyn Monroe is seen floating in and out of her favourite Tropicana Night Club.

Hotel Chelsea, New York

This is another celebrity studded hotel in New York. This place was frequented by musical greats like Dylan Thomas and The Sex Pistols etc. Till date, the echoes of their loud parties are heard as they have still not checked out from this hotel.

Taj Hotel, Mumbai

Yes, the famous Taj Hotel that is a landmark of Mumbai is haunted. The ghost of its original architect W. A. Chambers haunts the premises of the Taj. The Frenchman had committed suicide because his original blueprints for building the Taj were not adhered to.

Holmes Murder Castle, Chicago

The hotel owned by the first real serial killer in USA. In the 1800s, Dr. H.H. Holmes opened a hotel in Chicago where he retained guests to torture and kill them. He admitted to killing 28 guests himself!

Crescent Hotel, Eureka Springs, Ark.

The crescent hotel used to be a cancer hospital in the 1930s. So, guests can still see nurses running round with corpses.
