Famous Teachers In History
To mark the special occasion of Teacher's Day, lets us also look at some of the famous teachers in history who have been inspiring the present teachers. On this special occasion of Teacher's Day, we commemorate the birthday of one of the most famous teacher in history, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He is a man with honour and grace, and qualities which he has as a teacher sets a good example for the present generation of teachers.
Teacher's Day is celebrated with grandeur in all schools and colleges all over India. Teachers are given presents and treated with extra care and made to feel special too. These great and famous teachers in history have made a remarkable impression on most of our teachers today. For example, we come across teachers who are patient when it comes to handling their students. Some teachers are also a role model for their students and thus this brings out the special bond between a teacher and student.
Peeking into history, these are some of the famous teachers we have come across that have made their students proud. Take a look at some of these intellectual, and a few famous Indian teachers in history.

Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan
He is the man whose birthday is celebrated in India. Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a teacher himself at the Madras Presidency College. He is also the first Vice President of the country.

Alexandra Graham Bell
The telephone pioneer started his teaching career at the Visible Speech, in the Boston School for Deaf Mutes. He later developed a bond with his student, Mabel Hubbard whom he later married.

Pandit Ravi Shankar
He is a known legend in India and one of the famous teachers in history. Pandit Ravi Shankar is said to be one of the most refined music teachers of all time. He is also known as the best contemporary Indian musician.

Sting
Before he became a great star with The Police, Sting taught English, music, and soccer at St. Catherine's Convent School in London.

Robert Frost
The famous poet, Robert Frost worked as a teacher at the Pinkerton Academy in Derry, New Hampshire. In this university, this famous teacher in history was also called Hen Man because he was afraid of chickens.

Sylvester Stallone
One of the famous teachers in history is the American actor, Sylvester Stallone. He worked as a gym teacher at the American College in Switzerland.

Stephen King
Yet another famous teacher in history is Stephen King. This inspiring teacher worked as a teacher at the Hampden Academy in Hampden, Maine. He also wrote a book called Salem's Lot
