Blue Outfits Trending At IBFW 2013
The Indian bride is usually seen in reds, oranges and pinks. You may see a Keralite, Gujarati or Christian bride in white. Yellow is bridal colour prevalent in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. However, when it comes to defining bridal fashion, red has always dominated the scene. But we are noticing an interesting trend at the Aamby Valley Indian Bridal Fashion Week 2013. There are hardly any red outfits to be seen.
Blue outfits seem to be trending at the Indian Bridal Fashion Week 2013. We have noted blue outfits in most of the collections displayed till now. Its just Day 2, two early to make a verdict. And yet it seems that blue will be the trending colour of the bridal season this year. The trend of blue outfits started with JJ Valaya's collection. The show-stopper Kangna Ranaut wore a deep royal blue choli over her multi-coloured lehenga.
The Jyotsna Tiwari collection was full of blue outfits. As the theme was fusion, blue seemed be an appropriate colour for this collection. But even the Spanish designs of JJ Valaya were itched in blue. So the trending colour for the modern bride is blue.
Here are some of the best blue outfits that we have seen at Indian Bridal Week 2013 till now.

Navy Blue Dress
This navy blue dress from Jyotsna Tiwari's collection shows the face of the modern bride. The dress is sleeveless and has a scooped out neckline.

Blue Mermaid Gown
The silken gown from Jyotsna Tiwari's collection is tight till the upper thighs. It then opens out into a lovely sky blue lace skirt. The gown has pale yellow embroidery work bang in the centre forming a vertical panel.

Spanish Blue Gown
As the JJ Valaya collection is inspired by Spanish designs, this gown owes its roots to the country side maids of Spain. The gown has an alternate black and white pattern on the bosom. It flares out into a beautiful sky blue gown from thereon.

Sky Blue Lehenga
JJ Valaya has used Indian form in combination with Spanish designs. The sky blue lehenga has motifs that have been borrowed from Spanish shawls.

Cobalt Blue Dress
This dress from Jyotsna Tiwari's collection definitely aimed at the modern Indian bride. The cobalt blue dress has short sleeves and two vertical panels of embroidery on both sides.

Cobalt Blue Peplum Top
You can hardly image a bride wearing a peplum top but that is the beauty of innovative fashion. This cobalt blue peplum top is tight and plain till the waist. The frills below the waist are embroidered.

Spanish Princess
Kangna Ranaut looked every inch like a Spanish princess in this royal blue attire. Her lehenga was blend of many pale colours. But the deep V-neck royal blue choli remained the main visual anchor of the outfit.

Sky Blue Gharara
This sky blue outfit was one of the most elegant ones in JJ Valaya's collection. The lehenga was in plain sky blue lace. But the kurta was extensively embroidered in many coloured keeping blue as the base.

Sky Blue Peplum Top
This outfit looks like a peplum gown. But actually, the outfit can be broken up into a plain sky blue peplum top worn over a pink and blue lehenga.

Blue High Low Choli
The blue sleeveless choli has a semi circular hem. Thus it makes the outfit look like a gown with a scooped out waist.

Navy Blue Saree-Style Gown
This is the only saree-style gown of its type in this collection. It looks fascinatingly like a Greek wrap toga with all the neat pleats. But the shimmering golden belt and noodle-strap blouse ensure that it is indeed saree draped like a gown.
