Personalized single malt whiskies are matured in traditional oak casks for decades and is then selected by the malt master for private vintages.
These single malt whisky brands are unimaginably priced. The range starts at Rs 50 Lakh (INR) and goes upto Rs 3 Cr.
Recently, a Japanese single malt whiskey was sold at hi end stores for $12,892. Distilled at Suntory Holdings Ltd, 'The Yamazaki' was a 50-yr-old single malt cask. The reddish single malt was launched as limited edition (150 bottles only).
It was said to be the rarest whiskies of the world as if was fermented in the oak barrels that have the character of fragrant wood Chara. Sold in 700 milliliters, 'The Yamazaki' was available in terms of first come first serve basis.
And this isn't the first time that the Japanese distillery sold the expensive single malt whisky. Earlier, in 2005 and 2007, it sold the rare collection in just 48 hours.
