Speaking on the occasion, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan said, “'Classical musicians were not very happy about Rabindra Sangeet, because he took liberties. But only a genius can take liberty. There is something new and something secret in his creation.I come from the world of sound, For me to share the same platform an Gurudev is a matter of great pride and I would like to thank Montblanc for giving me the Lifetime Achievement Award in the field of music."
Painter Jogen Chowdhury said on the occasion, “I am from Santiniketan. I still stay there. Tagore is someone who has to be known from inside. He had a vision for Bengal. He wanted a society where everything is ideal. We just read Tagore, but we need to understand and feel him. He has talked about education, unity, freedom of women and man-woman relationship. He is the universal man. Discussing Tagore"s writing cannot be commercial. I am grateful to receive the Montblanc lifetime achievement award on his 150th birth anniversary."
