Galentine’s Day 2025 Special : A Heartfelt Tale Of Love, Loss, And Reconnection

The Eternal Bonds
Asha sat at her desk, staring at the medical report in front of her. 'Early-onset dementia', it read. The words felt unreal, distant, as if they belonged to someone else's life. She clenched her fists, her breath uneven. She had always been independent, living life on her terms. And now, fate had decided to throw this at her?
Tears threatened to spill, but she refused to break down. Instead, she walked over to the old wooden chest in the corner of her room, a time capsule of her youth. She opened it and sorted through old letters, small keepsakes, and faded Polaroid photos.
And then, she found it.
Her autograph book.
The pages were filled with scribbles, jokes, and heartfelt messages from people who once meant the world to her. She flipped through the pages and found a photo album tucked beneath it. As she turned the pages, four familiar faces smiled back at her-her roommates, her soul sisters. They were inseparable. Everyone called them 'Char Pankh'-four wings, because together, they could soar. But then life happened and had scattered them in different directions.
Asha traced the faces of her old friends:
Meera
-
the
responsible
one,
who
always
kept
them
grounded.
Riya
-
the
bold
and
fearless
dreamer.
Tara
-
the
peacemaker,
soft-spoken
but
the
glue
that
held
them
together.
Asha
-
She
herself,
the
leader,
the
one
who
pushed
them
all
to
live
without
regrets.
A lone tear escaped her eye.
Maybe she couldn't stop what was coming, but she could reclaim something before it was too late.
She picked up her phone and began the search.

The Reunion Begins
After weeks of searching, calls, and a flurry of messages, the reunion was set. Manali, their dream destination from college, was the chosen place.
One by one, they arrived at the cozy cottage Asha had booked. The air was crisp, and the mountains stood tall in the distance, as if they had been waiting for them all these years.
Asha was the first to arrive, nervous yet excited. She heard footsteps and turned to see Meera.
"Asha!" Meera cried, wrapping her arms around her.
"You look the same, Meera," Asha teased. "Still carrying that sensible aura around you?" She laughed.
One by one, Riya and Tara arrived, and soon, their laughter filled the air. For a moment, it was as if no time had passed.
But as the evening set in, they each opened up about the struggles life had thrown at them.
Meera, now a housewife, felt invisible in her own home. "I dedicated years to my family, but sometimes I wonder... do they even see me anymore?" she confessed.
Riya, the once-fearless one, had built a thriving business, but at the cost of love. "I walked away from people who cared because I thought success was everything," she admitted.
Tara had gone through a painful divorce. "I thought I had it all. But now, I am just trying to find myself again."
Asha listened to each of them, her heart aching for them. They had all faced battles, some visible, some hidden. And yet, here they were, healing together.
That night, they sat by a bonfire, reminiscing about their younger days, their misadventures, their old dreams.
"Asha," Tara said, "you called us here for a reason, didn't you?"
Asha smiled. "I just missed you all."
And that was the truth she chose to tell.

Going Back, Moving Forward
As Asha boarded the train back home, she felt something she hadn't in a long time-peace. The future was uncertain, but the love she had rekindled with her friends was certain.
They might not know her secret, but they had unknowingly given her exactly what she needed- a reminder that she wasn't alone.

She knew now, no matter where life took them, 'Char Pankh' would always find their way back to each other.
And that, Asha thought, was the only memory that truly mattered.
Galentine's day is a day to cherish the bonds that uplift, support, and inspire us through every stage of life. Whether it's reminiscing over old memories, creating new ones, or simply appreciating the presence of our closest friends. Because at the end of the day, love isn't just about being romantic, it's also found in the friendships that stand the test of time.
