For those unaware, Simrat is not new in the film industry but Gadar 2 is definitely her first big break in Bollywood. Earlier the actor has worked in South Indian films alongside Utkarsh Sharma, son of director Anil Sharma, in Gadar 2. She has 810k fans on Instagram and shares her day-to-day routine including pics and videos from the sets of the projects she is shooting or part of.

But, the internet is in splits due to her presence in Gadar 2 and they believe that Gadar 2 is a clean family film. One fan wrote, "Saw this clip today on Youtube & I'm shocked to know that this is a new heroine in #Gadar2 opposite @iutkarsharma😨 Is it really #SimratKaur ? Been a huge fan of Gadar and I hope the makers didnt ruin the legacy 😣 Mam @ameesha_patel Sir @iamsunnydeol is this true?? #SunnyDeol (sic)." and another shared numerous clips of her saying bold scenes to highlight that she is not fit for this story.

However, on Thursday, Ameesha Patel reacted to those tweets and mentioned that there is nothing to worry about Gadar 2 as it focusses mainly on the eternal love story of Tara Singh and Sakeena and that is completely the same family entertainment.

Previously, the film courted controversy due to a kissing scene inside Gurdwara Shri Kuhni Sahib in Punchkula, however, the manager of the Gurudwara, Satbir Singh and Secretary Shiv Kanwar Singh Sandhu, held a press conference regarding the shoot of the film Gadar 2 at the gurdwara to address the issue.

Set in 1971, Gadar 2 takes Tara-Sakeena's love story ahead and will hit the screens on 11 August 2023.
