The RBI, in coordination with state governments, has set out a list that includes Sundays, the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, public holidays, and specific regional holidays. This comprehensive list is essential for those needing to visit their bank branches, encouraging them to schedule their visits accordingly.

Despite the closures, customers can still access a range of banking services online. Services such as net banking and mobile banking remain available, allowing for uninterrupted banking operations even on holidays. The RBI has classified these holidays under three categories: the Negotiable Instruments Act, Real-Time Gross Settlement Holidays, and Banks' Closing of Accounts.

The holiday list for March 2024 includes significant festivals and events such as Chapchar Kut, Mahashivratri/Sivarathri, Bihar Divas, Holi (Second Day) - Dhuleti/Dol Jatra/Dhulandi, Yaosang 2nd Day/Holi, Holi, and Good Friday. State-wise Bank Holiday List

- March 1 (Friday) - Chapchar Kut - Banks will remain closed in Mizoram.

- March 8 (Friday) - Mahashivratri (Maha vad- 13)/ Sivarathri - Banks will remain open in New Delhi, Bihar, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, West Bengal, Mizoram, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Nagaland, Itanagar, Goa. However, banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and other states.

- March 22 (Friday) - Bihar Diwas- Banks will remain closed in Orissa, Bihar.

- March 25-27 (Monday- Wednesday) - Holi, Yaosang (Holi, Second Day) - Dhuleti/Dol Jatra/Dhulandi- Banks will remain closed on 25 March in Tripura, Gujarat, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Uttara Khand, Andhra Pradesh, Bengal, Telangana, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh.

On 26 March, Yaosang 2nd Day/Holi, the banks will remain closed in Orissa, Manipur and Bihar. On 27 March, the banks will remain closed in Orissa, Manipur, and Bihar.

- March 29 (Thursday) - Good Friday - Banks will remain closed in all states except Tripura, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Srinagar.

Banks will also remain closed on Saturdays ( on 9 and 23 March) and Sundays, on March 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31.
