Telangana election results are out and the voters of Telangana have declared Congress as the winner!
Even though out of the four states in the Assembly election in 2023, Congress was able to hold its position only in Telangana, one candidate who is taking the internet by storm is Anumula Revanth Reddy, after the victory of this party there.
Revanth Reddy is now the biggest contender for the post of Chief Minister of the state after the victory of Congress. Revanth Reddy, who started his political career as a member of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), has now further strengthened his position by winning over the party in the state. Reddy
was
born
in
1969
in
Mahabubnagar
district
of
undivided
Andhra
Pradesh
and
had
an
interest
in
politics
since
he
was
a
student.
Reddy is married to Geeta, niece of former Union Minister Jaipal Reddy. They tied the knot in 1992. Both of them have a daughter named Nimisha.
Reddy, who has a bachelor's degree from AV College, Osmania University, started student politics with ABVP during his college days.
In the year 2007, Revanth Reddy was elected MLC as an independent candidate. He later joined the Telugu Desam Party and in the year 2009, he won the election from the Kodangal Assembly seat of Andhra Pradesh as a TDP candidate.
In the year 2014, he won the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections with 46.45 percent vote share. In 2017, he left TDP and joined Congress.
In the year 2018, he contested the Telangana Assembly elections as a Congress candidate but lost the election to the then TRS (BRS) candidate. This was his first defeat in any election.
In the 2019 general elections, he contested from Malkajgiri and won the election by more than 10 thousand votes.
After this, in the year 2021, he was appointed as the President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee in place of N Uttam Kumar Reddy.
