Assembly Election Result 2023: Lesser Known Facts About Chhattisgarh, Heart Of India
Assembly Election Result 2023: This place is located in Hindustan Ka Dil (Heart of India), and never fails to wow people with its serene landscapes, rich history, and culture. This is none other than Chattisgarh.
Located in central India, it became the 26th state of the Indian Union by separating from Madhya Pradesh. It has vast mineral wealth as well as forest resources. Chhattisgarh has the highest number of Scheduled Tribes in the country.

Chhattisgarh is the 16th most populous state in the country. It is a source of power and steel for India, accounting for 15% of the total steel produced in the country, and is one of the fastest developing states of India.
The mythological heritage of the state can be traced back to the Mahabharata and Ramayana periods. During the 14th century, the Haihay dynasty ruled Chhattisgarh for six centuries. The Chalukya dynasty established its control in Bastar during the Middle Ages. The Marathas captured the state from the Haihaya dynasty in 1741. Gonds were against the crimes of Maratha rule. In 1854, when Nagpur was included under the jurisdiction of the British Government, a Deputy Commissioner was created in Chhattisgarh.
Chhattisgarh is that place where our Lord Rama is believed to have walked during his exile and was known as Dakshin Kaushal in ancient times. Seorinarayan, Ram Tekri, Ramgarh, Sita Bengra, and many other places come on the Ram Van Gaman Marg.
