Recently, Katie Holmes was presented a rare gift for her birthday by her partner Tom Cruise and that was a "Sewing Machine". The very reason why Tom Cruise gifted her a sewing machine was because she wants to sew for her daughter like the way her mother did for her.

“My mom grew up making curtains and pillows and everything, and it made our home very warm, so I like to do things like that with my daughter," she said.

Speaking about her daughter Suri, Katie Holmes said that she wants to involve her designer daughter with her new hobby and also spoke about her shopping habits.

“The other day we came out of a store, and she said, 'I want to go there," pointing at another store quite a distance away," she said.
“In that store was the dress that she wanted. I said, 'Wow, Suri. You"re something. You picked that out from a football field away."added Katie Holmes.
