"God Of Fitness" Jack LaLanne Is No More
Popular American fitness expert Jack LaLanne dies at the age of 96. Jack Lalanne reportedly dies from respiratory failure due to pneumonia on Sunday afternoon at his residence in Morro Bay, California. According to his 66-yr-old daughter Yvonne Lalanne, he was surrounded by his family and passed away very peacefully without any distress. She said her father had remained healthy and active from past few months and had also worked for a recent public TV special.
Jack Lalanne was one of the first fitness experts who brought the new medium of television on exercising and maintaining fitness with his “The Jack LaLanne Show". The fitness guru was very keen on the food intake and had restricted to two meals a day with no snacks calling it "the right fuel in the machine." He had also advised many stars like Britney Spears to get fit by developing pride and discipline.
Jack LaLanne had also opened the nation's first modern health club in 1936 in Oakland, California with not just the exercise equipments but also with a juice bar and health food store. Eventually the health club had over 100 gym chain across the country. The 96-yr-old always said that he can't die and that it would ruin his image. Besides his daughter, Yvonne, Lalanne is survived by sons, Dan Doyle and Jon and his wife, Elaine.
