Sir Elton John in recent past had claimed that Jesus was a gay and spoke out publicly of Middle Eastern countries conservative views regarding the gay status. His exact words were, "I don't know what makes people so cruel. Try being a gay woman in the Middle East -- you''re as good as dead."
This comment had sparked a controversy and questioned his religious beliefs and respects. His comments had enraged a certain community and specially people of Egypt who are religious. His questions regarding their sexual freedom has defamed him in Middle Eastern countries.
Sir Elton John, was to perform in Egypt on the May 18th but tit has been called off by Egypt officials on grounds of public unrest his visit might create.
