Rahman Sings For "We Are The World" Remake

A. R. Rahman sings for the remake of “We Are The World" charity single, recorded by USA For Africa in 1985. The remake is also recorded in the same Henson Recording Studio. This time it has included more than 75 world-class musicians.

Celine Dion, Kanye West, Natalie Cole, Tony Bennett, Jonas Brothers, Pink, Barbra Streisand, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Jamie Foxx, Lil Wayne, Wyclef Jean, Josh Groban, Snoop Dogg, Carlos Santana, Gladys Knight, etc. are the other legendaries, who took part in the anthem. The video for the song has been shot by Oscar winner for Crash, Paul Haggis. Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones oversaw the production. It will make the world premiere during Vancouver Winter Olympics, on Feb 12.

The original version of the song had included a bunch of 45 American music megastars. Lionel Richie and Micheal Jackson had recorded the original. It had raised a fund of more than million, for African hunger relief. It became the first ever first-selling American pop in the history, to be certified multi-platinum.

Indo-American statesman Rajan Zed congratulated Rahman for having created a bond between the music of West and East, which will help for strengthening the worldwide market and the stature of Indian music. He also requested him to nourish the coming generations with the richness of Indian music, of whose theory were first found in ancient Hindu scripture, Sama-Veda.
