Lingerie Sales
Lingerie sales make a swift soar despite economic recession in UK.

Lingerie chains Agent Provocateur and Ann Summers have witnessed an increase in its sales challenging credit crunch.

The past years saw the sales of lingerie aspects from racy bras to nipple tassels have surged.

Celebrity glam models like Kate Moss, Daisy Lowe and Catherine Bailey promoted the lingerie ranges of Agent Provocateur to boost buying.

Intimate apparel sales are about 8% up since March 2008 after topping 20 million pounds a year before in 12 UK outlets and 43 overseas.

According to Garry Hogarth, Agent Provocateur chief executive, people have been spending more on things that make life more interesting.

"I guess Britain's decided it needs a bit of cheering up," the Sun quoted Hogarth, as saying.

Ann Summers revealed last week that its Valentine's Day sales has surpassed the previous years by 14 percent.

However the down turn does not see the lingerie business alone doing good.

Domino's Pizza reported to have made its best-ever profits last month more than 8,000 video games were sold per hour in the UK last year.
