Tom-Cruise Smile Bad For Teeth
The popular 'Tom cruise ' like smile could cause you more damage than just your bank balance. The UV enhanced treatment could actually lead to skin and eye damage.

The study revealed that light treatment gives absolutely no benefit over bleaching without UV, and damages skin and eyes up to four times as much as sunbathing.

It was also discovered that a lamp gave out more intense level of radiation as compared to sunbathing in Hyde Park for a midsummer''s afternoon.

According to author Ellen Bruzell of the Nordic Institute of Dental Materials, similar to the affects of sunbathing, the risk of radiation exposure is higher for fair-skinned and light sensitive people.

Bruzzel also stated that bleaching further damaged the teeth, as she discovered more grooves on the enamel of the bleached teeth than the un-bleached ones. The grooves also made the teeth vulnerable to mechanical stress.

The process of tooth-bleaching is a popular one that involves utilising hydrogen peroxide as a bleaching agent. The agent works similar to the removal of coffee, tea, red wine, and smoking stains.

The trend reached higher levels as it was believed that UV further activated the bleaching efficiency. This has been ruled out by the latest study which concludes that UV has no benefits in bleaching. AGENCIES
